Property Crisis or not – six houses you'd never get rid of

At the moment you can't turn on the television or radio without hearing another news story about the dire straits the property market is in. It might be getting harder to sell your house but spare a thought for the people lumbered with trying to flog these duds.

If you're looking for a nice house by the seaside don't get seduced by Skipsea's coastal charm it's home to one of the world's most quickly eroding coastlines. Already they've lost a street of beach huts and most of Cliff Road is now in the north sea.

But if you're not scared of waking up in the middle of the night up to your arm pits in ice cold sea-water you might be able to get yourself a bargain, there are over forty wooden houses on the cliff and most have been abandoned to the sea.

"I'm not sure how the street got the nick name 'Murder Mile'"

Lower Clapton Road in London is one of the UK's most notorious streets, know locally and in the press as ‘Murder Mile' it has a reputation as one of the most dangerous places anywhere in the UK.

According The Times there are as many gun related death in this area of London as the whole of Chicago, probably a bit of an exaggeration but it's tough for an estate agent when the street name has ‘murder' in it.

One Previous Owner – Recently Laid Patio

As houses go, they don't get much more notorious than 25 Cromwell Street which was home to the West family. Not Adam of the camp sixties version of Batman but Fred & Rose the brutal serial killers. Being the former home of a murder doesn't do much for your asking price but Cromwell Road has even less going for it. The bodies were buried under the patio and in the basement.

So tough was it for estate agents to sell the house they ended up knocking the place down for a clean slate. No news as yet on the new 25 Cromwell Road maybe they'll turn it into a theme restaurant.

Don't Mind the Neighbour he's just the crazy naked mannequin man

Most neighbours are a pain of some variety, complaining about the noise or parking in your spot, but it could be worse, they could set up mannequins on their front lawn acting out weird and quite creepy sex scenes.

That's what neighbours of David Douthitt have to put up with. It might only be a passing obsession as he's currently trying to Double Dee's Bikini Salon and Day Spa the locals are hoping this is one hobby he grows out of...

Quiet Location – Just A thousand miles from the nearest pub.

Bouvet Island is the worlds most isolated island which is 1000 miles from the nearest land. And even there isn't inhabitant, which certainly makes nipping out for a quick half a little bit difficult.

Dream Cottage – Look out for the lorries

Amanda Sandland hasn't got the best luck her much loved home near Denbeigh in Wales has been hit by fifteen lorries in the last eighteen months. Once is unfortunate, twice is bad luck and eighteen times is a right royal pain in the ass. The last van causing problems reversed into the house and took out half the roof. The narrow streets of Wales are causing the problems but even signs warning drivers don't seem to be solving the problem.
